About

My name is Matthew Wall and I am the owner of a 1919 Newlyn Lugger the Ocean Pride PZ134.  This blog is about the purchase, rebuild and eventual sailing of her, along with perhaps a few salty tales along the way. I hope you enjoy it and please leave a comment.

dont know if you will be up and running in time, but if you are we’d love to have you visit us at the 8th biennial mousehole sea, salts and sail festival, just west of PZ in mounts bay. its on the 6,7,8th july, and there will be all the usual boat festival stuff going on, sailing, music, crew suppers, maritime displays and stuff. our website is at http://www.seasalts.co.uk you can down load a registration form from there. if you’re not ready to rock yet and know of anyone who is, pass the word around. its a week before the big brest and douarnenez festivals, and quite a few boats will be leaving for them from mousehole after the party, hope you can make it…..cheers, heidi xx

    Hi Matt,
I have just bought the 1912 Lugger foam fy62. Plenty of work to do starting with general demolition! Good to see others out there doing it.

    Hi Matt,

I’m a conservation student from the University of Lincoln. I am working on a model ship. I am unsure as to whether it is a Lugger, Smack or gaff-rigged Ketch. Would you be able to help me to confirm whether it is a lugger or not? I am happy to email photographs of the model.

    Best wishes,
    Jenna
